What’s the role about?
As our Menswear Fabric Assistant, you’ll support the sourcing and development of fabrics across the Menswear department, ensuring critical path deadlines, brand standards, and commercial targets are met. Working closely with the Fabric team, as well as Design, Product Development, Buying, and Merchandising, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality fabrics that align with the Reiss DNA.
This is a fast-paced and detail-focused role, where you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate systems, supporting fabric development, and ensuring the smooth running of all fabric-related administration.
Who You Are
- Previous experience in a similar role or a strong interest in fabric, sourcing, or product development within a retail head office environment.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Confident using Excel and comfortable working across systems and trackers.
- A strong communicator, able to build relationships across teams and with suppliers.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to support the wider team where needed.
- Commercially aware, with an interest in trends, fabrics, and the premium fashion market.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting fabric sourcing, development, and sampling by maintaining accurate fabric trackers and ensuring all key data is up to date.
- Logging and organising all fabric samples, references, and rails, maintaining a clear and efficient fabric library.
- Managing lab dip processes and supporting sourcing developments to ensure timelines are met.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to communicate fabric details and track deliveries in line with the critical path.
- Assisting with the preparation for seasonal buy meetings, ensuring all fabric information and submissions are ready on time.
- Supporting bulk production by chasing submissions, test reports, and documentation, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Contributing to sustainability initiatives by managing fabric documentation, tracking data, and supporting the achievement of departmental targets.
- Providing full administrative support to the Fabric team, including maintaining systems, sample stock, and stepping in when required to ensure continuity.
