Position: Fabric Engineer

Location: Bullring, Birmingham

Job Type: Full-time

Shift type: Rotational

Core Responsibilities:

  • Planned and reactive maintenance: painting, joinery, minor building repairs
  • Update completed PPM tasks on computerized maintenance system
  • Assist specialist subcontractors with PPM and reactive works
  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation
  • Inspect services and proactively manage call-outs/repairs
  • Attend site emergencies outside normal working hours
  • Work at high level using platforms and ladders
  • Maintain company-issued tools in safe, serviceable condition

Essential Requirements:

  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Carpentry, Joinery, Construction & Building
  • 10 years' experience in a similar field
  • Previous team working experience
  • Customer service skills
  • Competent knowledge of building fabric: joinery, painting, small building works

Key Conditions:

  • Must reside near Bullring Birmingham (available for call-out)
  • The incumbent will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the retail sector. This will require work at weekends and in the evenings and the salary has been set to reflect this.
