Welder / Fabricator (Structural Steel)

Pontypool | Permanent
£32,000- £42,000 per annum depending on experience
Day Shift: Monday to Friday | Overtime Available

Bridgestaff Group are recruiting highly experienced Structural Steel Fabricators/Welders to join a busy and fast-paced workshop in the Pontypool area. This role requires hands-on, proven experience in structural steel fabrication. Applicants must be confident in their ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision in a production environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of structural steel components, working directly from detailed engineering drawings within a high-volume workshop. This is a critical hire requiring individuals who can contribute immediately, maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Candidates whose experience is primarily thin gauge, pipework, or light fabrication will not be suitable for this role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
