Fabricator / Welder
Fabricator / Welder Location: Paisley, Renfrewshire
The Fabricator / Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components and structures in line with technical drawings and specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of metalworking processes, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate fabrication tools and welding equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll perform a range of fabrication and welding tasks, including:
- Reading and accurately interpreting fabrication drawings to assemble parts to specification
- Fabricating and preparing materials through cutting, drilling, and tack welding
- Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble steel and other metals
- Inspecting finished products to ensure quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance
- Performing MIG welding processes as required
- Inspecting welds and completing work to maintain quality standards
- Following health and safety procedures, using appropriate PPE, and maintaining a safe workspace
- Carrying out routine maintenance on tools and welding equipment
- Collaborating with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to meet deadlines and project goals

Qualification SVQ/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication and Welding Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Training Experience Training or qualification in Abrasive Wheels and Manual Handling (willingness to undertake if required).

Technical Competencies Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
