Fabricator / Welder

Role: Fabricator / Welder

Location: Paisley, Renfrewshire

The Fabricator / Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components and structures in line with technical drawings and specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of metalworking processes, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate fabrication tools and welding equipment.


What you'll be doing:

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately to assemble parts to specification
  • Fabricate and prepare materials, including cutting, drilling, and tack welding
  • Cut, shape, and assemble steel and other metals using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards
  • Carry out routine maintenance on equipment and help maintain a safe working environment
  • Perform MIG welding processes as required
  • Inspect welds and completed work to ensure quality and compliance
  • Follow health and safety procedures, using appropriate PPE and maintaining a safe workspace
  • Maintain tools and welding equipment, reporting any faults or issues
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet deadlines
  • Comply with industry regulations and company quality assurance processes
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to achieve project goals

About you:

  • SVQ/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication and Welding Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Training in Abrasive Wheels and Manual Handling (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Good time management and reliability
  • High level of attention to detail
