Metal Fabricator/Welder – High-Precision Acoustic Enclosures
Location: ADE Power Ltd | Contract: Permanent (Days/Afters Shift Available)
We’re a high-quality acoustic enclosure manufacturer seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder with a knack for precision, attention to detail, and a strong grasp of industrial metalwork. Your work will directly translate into bespoke, design-critical products used worldwide—no two projects are ever the same.
Your technical expertise, mathematical rigor, and inspection eye are essential to ensuring我们 deliver flawless, meticulously constructed enclosures that meet exact specifications every time.
ADE Power is a workplace where craftsmanship, teamwork, and a 4-day workweek go hand-in-hand. We value (experienced) hands-on builders who thrive in a supportive, cooperative culture.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical position where your skills in metal fabrication, welding, and process adherence will make a tangible difference. You’ll handle, produce, and final inspect intermediate-to-advanced metal components in our workshop, all while working within tight deadlines that demand precision and reliability.
We pride ourselves on building products that exceed expectations, largely thanks to the detailed work and problem-solving attitude of our fabrication team. The role enables career progression for those looking to expand their skills in engineering process improvement and specialist metalwork.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Interpreting & executing engineering plans:
- Carefully reading, studying and translating 2D and 3D drawings to understand part geometry and tolerance.
- Validating accuracy before proceeding, ensuring critical specifications (thickness, corner radii, etc.) are met.
-
Preparation & fabrication of metal components:
- Marking and measuring cutting lines on thick/light gauge metals (0.9mm–30mm) using standard templates and laser guidance tools.
- Precision bending/drilling/milling of metal sheets and bars after layout.
- Sourcing/assembling raw materials to maintain efficient workflows (aluminium, mild steel, Zintec/galvanised sheet in 2mm–10mm).
-
High-integrity fabrication & finishing processes:
- Expert welding (assistance/training provided) along complex contours using TIG, MIG or manual techniques.
- Grinding & smooth-finishing fittings, seams, and edges by hand or with lightweight machinery.
- Quality assurance checks on welded joints, cut edges and panels—using gauge, steel rulers or laser scanning—with supporting documentation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
