Senior Detailing Engineer – Cladding Remediation (Southeast UK)
Please note: Commuting to multiple sites surrounding Reading is a requirement for this role.
Founded over 20 years, Lawtech have become a leading principal contractor specialising in cladding remediation. We deliver high-quality, compliant, multi-million-pound cladding remediation & regeneration contracts throughout London and the wider Southeast.
About the Role
The Senior Detailing Engineer is responsible for preparing technical drawings, managing site surveys, and facilitating seamless design coherence with commercial teams, manufacturers, and external partners. Ensuring adherence to national standards and manufacturer specifications while maintaining client fundraising compliance.
Key Accountabilities
Technical Detailing
- Create accurate building information models (BIM-compliant drawings) using AutoCAD (preferably expert-level, 3D AutoCAD/SketchUp/Revit experience is a plus)
- Monitor and update drawings based on site feedback and design revision requests
- Source, distribute and manage technical specifications and manufacturer data files

Site Liaison & Quality Management
- Conduct site surveys (3–4 days per week), recording measurements and producing photographic evidence for drawings
- Liaise with commercial, estimating, and site management teams for stakeholder coordination
- Assist with site inspections to ensure specification compliance and manufacturer guidelines are followed
- Provide training guest appearances and coaching to subcontractors and site managers on technical processes
Reporting & Collaboration
- Answer technical queries and recommend solutions across project phases
- Attend client and internal monthly reviews to update progress on standards compliance
- Maintain procurement documentation, ensuring subcontractors receive up-to-date technical inputs
- Assist the Design & Quality Manager in performance tracking by monitoring nominated KSIs (KPIs) on site

Candidates Must
- Essential
- Hold a degree/diploma in engineering, architecture or facades-related field, or equivalent experience
- Hold a valid CSV/CSCS card (Basic category minimum)
- Proven experience in facades, external wall insulation (EWI), cladding, and rainscreen systems (essential)
Key Skills
- Full proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), intermediate skill with 3D models preferred
- Be a competent user of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project Probe)
- Experienced in BIM/software syncing SketchUp or Revit is highly advantageous
