About the Role
As a vital member of the Property and Environment team, you will play a key role in overseeing all maintenance and operational activities onsite. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective delivery of a fully serviced and supported building, fostering an environment that is safe, compliant, and stimulating for staff, students, and visitors alike. This includes:
- Managing day-to-day operations
- Addressing maintenance issues promptly
- Upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance
In your capacity as a Supervisor, you will also take on the responsibility of line-managing the Property and Environment Officers. This involves:
- Providing guidance, support, and development opportunities for your team
- Ensuring effective role performance and departmental success
- Collaborating closely with the Property and Environment Manager to align strategies and priorities
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, based at our Banbury and Bicester College(s).
Start Date: 28th September 2026
Requirements for Success
To excel in this Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor role at Activate Learning, you will bring:
- Proven experience in operating and managing a site in compliance with health and safety standards and estates management policies
- A strong understanding of facilities management operations, with a focus on:
- Efficient administration and support of frontline services
- Aligning site operations with organisational policies and objectives
- Effective supervisory skills, requiring the ability to:
- Oversee team activities, delegate tasks, and maintain a collaborative and productive environment
- Inspire and guide your team to achieve shared goals
- A confident, proactive leader who:
- Takes initiative to resolve challenges
- Provides clear direction and support
- Ensures seamless day-to-day operations
