Job Title: Facilities Assistant (Cleaner)
Location: St Fergus
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Job Purpose
To provide a high standard of cleaning and housekeeping services, ensuring that all designated areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition. The Facilities Assistant will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for employees and contractors while complying with health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain offices, welfare facilities, meeting rooms, kitchens, washrooms, changing rooms, corridors, stairways, and other designated areas.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with site procedures.
- Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and kitchen areas, ensuring consumables are replenished.
- Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables as required.
- Report any maintenance issues, defects, hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate person.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and correctly, carrying out basic maintenance where appropriate.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals in line with regulations.
- Ensure cleaning duties are completed according to agreed schedules and standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient delivery of facilities services.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.

Essential
- Good understanding of cleaning methods, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Awareness of health and safety requirements in the workplace.
- Physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties, including bending, lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
