Job Title: Part Time Facilities Assistant

Location: Widnes (WA8 7SU)
Salary: £14.02 per hour
Hours: Monday- Friday 07:30- 12:00
Contract: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a reliable, practical, and trustworthy Facilities Assistant to join our client’s team in a busy managed office environment. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit an all-rounder with good maintenance skills, a proactive approach, and a strong eye for detail.

As the first person on site each morning, you will play a vital role in ensuring the building is opened safely, presented to a high standard, and ready for our clients and visitors. You will be responsible for carrying out daily inspections, completing check sheets, undertaking minor repairs and maintenance tasks, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the building.

Duties

  • Open and prepare the building each morning.
  • Conduct daily building inspections and complete relevant check sheets.
  • Identify and report any issues requiring attention.
  • Turn on reception area televisions and ensure common areas are ready for use.
  • Carry out general handyperson and maintenance tasks.
  • Undertake minor repairs including door hinges, fittings, and adjustments.
  • Hang pictures, mirrors, shelving, and other fixtures.
  • Ensure communal spaces are maintained to a professional standard.
  • Report any health and safety concerns.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and visitors.
  • Liaise professionally with contractors attending site.
  • Support management in ensuring the building is operated efficiently and maintained to high standards.

Skills

  • Has practical maintenance or handyperson experience.
  • Is confident carrying out minor repairs and general DIY tasks.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards of presentation.
  • Is reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working independently.
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Is comfortable working at heights (training will be provided where required).
  • Has good communication skills and can interact professionally with clients and contractors.
