Cocoon is a rapidly expanding members-only club for families, offering a blend of play spaces, classes, and community support inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies. Located in Tribeca and the Upper West Side, Cocoon is committed to inclusivity, with every membership fee supporting prenatal and postpartum programming for parents of all income levels.

Job Description

Join the Cocoon team as a Facilities Associate and help create a welcoming, safe, and pristine environment for our members and guests. We're looking for a customer-focused, hardworking, and reliable individual who can multitask and meet deadlines. We hire kind-hearted professionals who tackle every challenge—no task too small, no goal too big.

Main Duties

  • Maintain Our Space: Keep our clubhouse spotless with sweeping, mopping, dusting and sanitizing.
  • Furniture Setup: Assemble and move furniture as needed.
  • Daily Checks: Regularly inspect bathrooms, kitchen, play space, lounge areas, and classrooms.
  • Event Assistance: Help with event setup and cleanup.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with other teams to foster a welcoming environment.
  • Enhance Guest Experience: Ensure every guest has an exceptional experience.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of and restock cleaning supplies and consumables.
  • Member and Visitor Check-In: Assist with checking in members and visitors to ensure a smooth entry process.
  • Live Our Values: Support Cocoon’s mission to nurture families and build community.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Background in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
  • Attention to Detail: Committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Multitasking: Efficiently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic Repairs: Able to handle minor repairs and furniture assembly.
  • Inventory Management: Proficiency in managing and ordering supplies.
  • Customer-Focused: Dedicated to providing excellent service and creating a positive environment.
  • Reliable: Punctual and dependable.
  • Team-Oriented: Works well with others.
  • Communication: Clear and courteous communicator.
  • Physical Capability: Able to lift, bend and stand for extended periods.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiar with safety protocols.
  • Cleaning Expertise: Knowledge of effective cleaning methods.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in facilities management or maintenance preferred. First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
