Job Description: Facilities Maintenance Officer
Location: Shire of Capel, South West, Australia
Employment Type: Full Time, 9-day fortnight
Work Environment: Friendly, supportive

Job Description
As our Facilities Maintenance Officer, you’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for the proactive upkeep of Shire buildings and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out maintenance tasks
- Conducting inspections
- Assisting in coordinating contractors
- Supporting capital works projects
- Helping manage records
- Contributing to maintenance scheduling
- Ensuring a safe and functional environment for staff and the wider community

Participating in an after-hours on-call roster, your responsiveness and steady approach will help ensure our facilities remain safe and functional at all times.

- Base annual salary $77,103 per annum
- Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of 92c per hour on all worked hours and paid leave (up to $1,719 per annum)
- Annual leave loading of 17.5%
- Up to 14% Shire superannuation contribution

- A can-do attitude and a commitment to the Shire’s HEART Values (Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork)
- Experience in facilities maintenance and repair
- Confidence with tools and equipment, plus sound problem-solving skills
- Good communication and computer literacy
- Strong time management and ability to work both independently and in a team
- A Construction Safety Awareness (White) Card and C-Class Driver’s Licence
Knowledge of building structures and prior experience with tenders, alongside First Aid and Work Safely at Heights certifications will be highly regarded.
