About Arcadis & the Role

We are seeking a Facilities Management Consultant (FMC) to join our rapidly expanding Places business area. As part of our Arcadis Asset Optimisation practice, your mission is to create sustainable environments where people live, work, and thrive.

As a key team member, you will support public and private sector clients by alignment of property portfolios with organisational goals. Transforming property from a cost centre into a strategic asset, this role offers long-term career development, structured support, and diversified consultancy exposure.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide consultancy support across Asset Optimisation services, including:
    • PFI advisory (handback processes)
    • Facilities Management (FM) strategic advice
    • Life-cycle and backlog modelling
    • Property asset management and portfolio mapping/strategy
    • TOTEX (Total Output Specification) and whole-life costing
    • Benchmarking & compliance audits

  • Assist senior practice members in delivering consultancy assignments, such as:

    • Strategic reviews
    • Target operating model design
  • Deliver supply-chain and procurement advice and execute:

    • Benchmarking
    • Value-for-money reviews
    • Performance assessments
  • Preside over compliance-related audits in:

    • Assurance
    • Controls
    • Governance
  • Contribute to data analytics and cost-modelling teams, facilitating:

    • Feasibility studies
    • Estimates & cost plans
    • Database development
  • Give contract-related advice, including PFI arrangement reviews


Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven professional experience in Facilities Management and whole-life costing delivery
  • Strong track record working with public sector clients, including:
    • Health
    • Education
    • Local Authorities
    • Plus relevant private sector exposure
  • Qualification in FM or membership of:
    • IWFM (Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management)
    • RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
    • Alternatively, another recognised professional body
  • Previous multi-disciplinary teamwork experience
  • Capacity to support major programmes or complex portfolios
