Senior Facilities & Buildings Manager – SC Johnson Professional®

About This Role
This critical Senior Facilities & Buildings Management role is responsible for leading all aspects of Facilities Management across our Denby and Little Eaton sites. This includes overseeing maintenance, performance, and continuous improvement of facilities while ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the facilities budget and overseeing capital investment
- Driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational reliability, workplace standards, and facility services
- Focusing on sustainability, supporting the company’s journey towards net-zero carbon emissions
- Aligning with our sustainability agenda and meeting ISO50001 energy compliance standards
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Strategy & Maintenance
- Lead the development and deployment of a facilities maintenance strategy, including planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance for Denby & Little Eaton sites.
- Implement and continually improve the SAP maintenance management system for effective facilities oversight.
- Develop and execute an ongoing facility upgrade and investment plan while adherence to industry best practices.

Budget & Financial Oversight
- Create and manage budgets and P&L accountability for all facility maintenance spending, tracking MRO spend, buildings repairs, and site utilities.
- Set up precise monitoring and reporting mechanisms for stakeholders, including MRO spend, building repairs, and utility performance.
Contractor Performance & Compliance
- Lead the facilities contractor base, implementing effective performance monitoring systems.
- Work closely with SHE Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and Senior Project Engineer to ensure full compliance with SC Johnson’s safety standards, national regulations, and industry norms.
Safety & Regulatory Standards
- Establish contract management processes with the Senior Project Engineer & SHE Manager to ensure third-party contractors meet UK/EU SHE requirements.
- Support the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) program, aligning facility works with internal and regulatory guidelines.
Sustainability & Energy Programme
- Support SCJ energy reduction programs, driving alignment with sustainability objectives and ISO50001 certification.
- Assist in delivering MBW-a’s (Means, Benefits, and justifications) and managing facility-related capital projects
Requirements & Experience
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven facilities management experience in a related industry
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK regulations for:
- Fire safety
- Legionella control
- Electrical safety
- Gas safety
- Air handling systems
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable)
Key Behaviours & Skills
- Strong leadership with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Exceptional planning, organisation, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
