Facilities Manager

£60,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Manager to join a leading residential living operator, overseeing the maintenance, compliance, and operational performance of a high-quality residential community.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for ensuring buildings, amenities, and communal spaces are maintained to the highest possible standards. Working closely with residents, contractors, and on-site teams, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring all technical, maintenance, and compliance requirements are met.

This position would suit a technically minded facilities professional who enjoys leading teams, managing building operations, and driving high standards across a resident-focused environment.

The Role

As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all maintenance and facilities operations across the development. You will lead the maintenance team, oversee contractor performance, and ensure the property remains safe, compliant, and well-presented at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the on-site maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Oversee the inspection, repair, and upkeep of apartments, communal areas, amenities, and external spaces.
  • Manage planned preventative maintenance programmes and ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and oversee remedial works, repairs, and technical projects.
  • Manage resident-reported maintenance issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure service delivery standards are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, and reporting.
  • Support budget management and cost control across maintenance activities.
  • Drive a culture of safety, professionalism, and customer service across the site.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess:

  • Previous experience in a Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, Technical Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • A technical background gained through Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction, Carpentry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing maintenance teams, contractors, and building services.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and planned preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Must have experience with district heat networks.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good IT skills and experience using maintenance or property management systems.
