Location: HMP Manchester, Manchester, M60 9AH Hours: Permanent | 39 hours per week Schedule: Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 17:00 Salary: Competitive market rate
About the Role
Amey is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead Hard FM (Facilities Management) delivery at HMP Manchester. This position requires a resilient, adaptable leader capable of managing a large team, ensuring compliance, and fostering strong relationships within a secure, demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities
The role involves:
- Managing and leading a large FM team, including performance and discipline management.
- Overseeing day-to-day estate operations and ensuring service delivery quality.
- Building strong relationships with prison leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and mandatory regulations.
- Driving KPI performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promoting high standards in health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications
We’re looking for:
- 5+ years of Hard FM management experience (preferred).
- Proven leadership of large operational teams.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience with audit preparation and statutory compliance maintenance.
- Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
Technical_details:
- Preference for candidates with FM or technical qualifications.
- Prison Security Clearance (standard DBS required, plus Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)).
- Amey will support appliants throughout the security vetting process.
