Location: Denby & Little Eaton, with remote hybrid options (1 day a week).


About the Role

This pivotal position leads Facilities Management across our Denby and Little Eaton sites, ensuring maintenance excellence, compliance, and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing facilities’ strategic enhancement, including predictive maintenance strategy, SAP Facilities Management system optimisation, and continuous improvement of our built environment.
  • Delivery of budget and P&L for facilities spend, monitoring MRO (maintenance, repairs, operations), buildings repairs, and site utilities, and presenting transparent reports to stakeholders.
  • Leading facilities contractor performance, implementing robust safety protocols in collaboration with SHE, Manufacturing, and Project Engineering teams.
  • Championing energy efficiency, carbon reduction targets, and ISO50001 compliance to align with our net-zero sustainability agenda.
  • Developing capital expenditure plans, MEA (Project Charter) alignment, and ensuring compliance with UK/EU safety regulations (fire, electrical, gas, legionella).

Responsibilities

Facilities Strategy & Operations

  • Use data-driven insights to establish long-term facilities maintenance programs (planned, predictive, reactive).
  • Embed world-class best practices for asset lifecycle management (maintenance, upgrades, replacements).
  • Optimise SAP Facilities Management (FM) tools and their processes to minimise operational downtime.

Budget & Financial Leadership

  • Manage facilities budgets ($m level), balancing immediate needs with long-term investments.
  • Monitor MRO, site utilities, and contractor costs, ensuring adherence to budget performance indicators.

Safety & Compliance

  • Work with SHE, manufacturing, and engineering teams to enforce SCJ health and safety standards, ensuring contractor compliance with UK/EU regulations.
  • Lead legionella, fire, electrical, and gas safety inspections to mitigate risk.
  • Facilitate compliance with ISO50001 energy management system.

Sustainability & Capital Projects

  • Support net-zero targets via energy reduction programs and ‘circular facilities design’ initiatives.
  • Lead facility investment in low-carbon technologies (e.g. renewable energy, improved insulation).
  • Ensure efficient capital expenditure planning, from validation to closure (MEAs and project delivery).

What You’ll Need

Experience

  • Proven track record in facilities management (3+ years).
  • Hands-on understanding of industrial / commercial environments, including:
    • Building services (HVAC, electrical, gas, plumbing).
    • UK/EU regulatory requirements (fire safety, legionella control, building risk assessments).
    • Loss prevention & asset maintenance optimisation.
  • Preference for NEBOSH or IOSH (health/safety qualifications).
