Facilities Manager
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our facilities across two buildings on site.
You will ensure our infrastructure supports business needs by managing maintenance, contractors, and improvement initiatives, while driving cost efficiency and sustainability.
What You Will Be Doing...
- Manage day-to-day facilities operations across two buildings
- Oversee maintenance, cleaning, waste, and essential services
- Plan and deliver repairs, upgrades, and refurbishment projects
- Manage contractors, tenders, and service agreements
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards
- Lead facilities teams
- Manage space planning and support future growth
- Drive efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement
- Respond to operational issues and emergencies
About You
- Proven experience in a Facilities Manager or similar role
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical) and BMS
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Experience with contract management and procurement
- Understanding of health & safety, environmental & energy mgmt. systems
- Proactive, flexible, and solutions-focused approach

Working Conditions
This is a management role but there may be occasions when you are required to be hands-on - combining office and on-site work across both buildings.
Some out-of-hours or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Building Management System (BMS) to control and monitor building functions.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
- Lead a team of facilities staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance.
- Develop and manage contracts for facilities-related services, including procurement and negotiation of terms.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and identify areas for improvement, implementing cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to facility management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and manage the facilities budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Ensure a safe and secure working environment, implementing emergency response plans and conducting regular drills.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, and BMS.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Experience in contract management and procurement, with a track record of successful negotiations.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and ISO standards (14001 and 50001).
- Proactive and flexible approach, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using facilities management software and MS Office.
- A relevant degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
