Job Description
What the Role Involves
Experience in a fast-paced, 24/7 FMCG environment is essential.
Strategic Evolution
- Conduct a comprehensive situational audit of the current printing facility.
- Evaluate and transform existing Facilities Management (FM) workflows with actionable recommendations.
- Align long-term asset care strategies and space utilisation with future manufacturing objectives.
Technical Operations & Maintenance
- Lead a robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, prioritising critical manufacturing plant, high-volume machinery, and building infrastructure to minimise downtime.
- Oversee the 24-hour reliability of all utility systems (Gas, Electric, Water) and specialised printing infrastructure.
- Monitor energy consumption to identify and implement high-impact cost-saving and carbon-reduction initiatives.
- Direct the upkeep of buildings, roofing, and external grounds to maintain professional and functional standards.
Commercial & Vendor Management
- Lead procurement and tendering processes for service contracts, ensuring adherence to strict SLAs and maximising ROI.
- Oversee all external vendors, guaranteeing 24/7 emergency support and full compliance with site safety protocols.
- Hold full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability for the facilities budget, ensuring financial transparency and efficient resource allocation.

Compliance, Safety & Leadership
- Maintain 100% audit readiness across all UK health and safety (H&S) legislation, including Fixed Wire, Gas Safety, Fire Suppression, and PAT testing.
- Author and review detailed Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) while spearheading site-level emergency preparedness and incident response strategies.
- Mentor and lead the FM team, embedding a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical & Operational
- Mandatory: Experience in a 24/7 fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Asset lifecycle management.
- Expertise in utility systems.
- Familiarity with UK statutory compliance and safety documentation.
- Energy and sustainability oversight.
- Systems maintenance.
Commercial & Administrative
- Proven procurement and tendering capabilities.
- Budgets management.
- Contractor liaison.
