FACILITIES MANAGER
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 8am and 5pm
Location: Thomas Tallis School, London, SE3 9PX
About the Role
Greenwich Schools PFI runs 2 schools and delivers key services in Cleaning, Mechanical and Electrical systems (M&E), Premises Management and Full Lifecycle replacement. We have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our team. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday based at Thomas Tallis School.
As a pivotal leader on our team, you will drive operational excellence by ensuring strict adherence to G4S policies and procedures while providing high-level support to the Contract Manager. You will champion health and safety compliance across the contract and oversee daily office management. This dynamic role spans both Hard and Soft services, requiring a versatile professional who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Management: Oversee all aspects of estate management, including cleaning, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance, premises upkeep, and long-term lifecycle asset replacement.
- HR & People Operations: Drive the employee lifecycle by managing recruitment, onboarding, training programs, and performance reviews, while ensuring strict compliance with DBS and vetting regulations.
- Health & Safety: Champion a culture of safety by ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting thorough risk assessments, and managing all H&S reporting.

Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has:
- Proficiency in IT systems (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace), with specific knowledge of CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) software and Paymech administration.
- A solid understanding of COSHH regulations and general regulatory compliance standards.
- Outstanding organizational skills, a conscientious work ethic, and a sharp eye for detail.
- Experience collaborating and communicating effectively with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels of an organization.
- A reliable professional with sound problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Desirable Criteria
- Prior experience working within a contract-managed or educational environment.
- Familiarity or direct experience with PFI (Private Finance Initiative) frameworks
- Ability to interpret Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and experience navigating financial reporting systems.
