About Us
The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers, or small businesses, and their financial service providers.
What You’ll Do
As a Workspace Officer, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, well-equipped and productive environment for colleagues—whether they’re working on site or remotely. Working as part of the Workspace team, you’ll take a proactive, hands-on approach to maintaining our spaces: carrying out regular floor walks, completing maintenance tasks, preparing meeting rooms, and managing workplace assessments to recommend the right equipment to support colleague wellbeing. You’ll also serve as a lead fire marshal, ensuring clear, confident and efficient evacuation procedures whenever required.
You’ll be a visible and approachable presence across the building, supporting colleagues through our internal helpdesk by resolving queries related to facilities, equipment, access and safety, and escalating issues where needed. By actively identifying and addressing potential risks, you’ll help prevent problems before they arise—contributing to a consistently safe, smooth-running and welcoming workplace.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
