We are seeking a Senior Facilities Project Manager to join our teams in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week
About the Role
The Senior Facilities Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of all facilities projects for designated site(s). This role aligns with Labcorp’s mission to deliver high-quality services, ensure continuous improvement, and achieve cost-efficient, productive outcomes.
The position will work closely with the Site Facilities Manager and a network of UK Project Managers to maintain consistency across sites while supporting diverse business needs. Collaboration with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) teams ensures compliance with corporate sustainability, health, and safety goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Oversight
- Assist departments in forming project briefs by chairing meetings to gather necessary details for new project planning.
- Conduct feasibility studies and identify growth potentials, visualising future solutions and aligning them with company objectives.
- Drive the procurement process, preparing sketches and working drawings to facilitate contractor execution of projects.
Contract & Specification Management
- Write detailed specifications and schedules of works to define contractor requirements, including material lists and technical details.
- Prepare contract procedures and documentation outlining project terms and conditions for competitive tendering.
- Evaluate and analyse tenders/quotations to ensure cost-effective and compliant project selection.

On-Site Oversight & Compliance
- Supervise day-to-day project execution, ensuring adherence to specifications, tender documentation, and quality standards.
- Arrange site meetings to monitor progress and address project advancements.
- Maintain a clear audit trail of project records, including drawings, manuals, and technical documentation to support future strategies and decisions.
- Share responsibility for maintaining a technical library to support project planning and development.
Technical & Operational Support
- Provide daily technical support to the Operations Supervisor or trades personnel for problem-solving and solutions.
- Offer on-call, out-of-hours support during site emergencies.
- Apply knowledge of energy conservation in building service installations to generate cost savings with measurable economic payback.
Budget & Strategic Leadership
- Financial control over projects, with authority to authorise payments while controlling costs against agreed budgets.
- Develop and manage site CapEx projects, aligning with strategic long-term plans, site maintenance, controlled break-fix solutions, and growth initiatives.
- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring reliable cash flow forecasts.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Negotiation & Management: Proven experience in contract negotiation, tender evaluation, and project management within facilities, construction, or technical disciplines.
- Technical Expertise:
- Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Strong understanding of building regulations, fast-track construction methods, and mechanical/electrical design principles.
- Specialised Knowledge: Awareness of energy-efficient design concepts to support cost savings.
- Supervisory Roles: Track record in supervisory positions within project management or related fields.
- Licensing: Clean, valid full UK driving licence.
