Job Introduction

Position: Facilities Supervisor

Location: Rushden

About The Role

We have a new opening for a Facilities Supervisor to coordinate and direct the safe, compliant and cost-effective facilities operations for the Rushden and Hillcrest sites, including the business units focus on the provision and delivery of Engineering & Facilities services, and the day-to-day coordination of the facilities support staff.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the building, including routine fire alarm testing and backup arrangements.
  • Arrange and monitor building, infrastructure and site maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for building plant and equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain the Building Management System (BMS), escalating any issues as required.
  • Coordinate electrical equipment safety checks and portable appliance testing (PAT).
  • Maintain the site’s emergency response plan and ensure relevant information remains up to date.
  • Coordinate contractors working on site, ensuring they understand and comply with all relevant safety requirements.
  • Organise service contracts and maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service, maintenance and breakdown records on the site database.
  • Process and manage associated service documentation, ensuring records are complete and readily available.
  • Keep management informed of incidents, maintenance issues or service disruptions that may affect site operations or the wider business.
  • Support the effective management of site services and utilities, including appropriate contingency and backup arrangements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring safety remains the highest priority across all facilities activities.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Facilities team and wider site as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Years Experience supervising a team of engineers or technicians
  • An NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering or experience gained in a similar role
  • Experience working in a regulated industry with an understanding of GxP standards would be advantageous although training will be given as required.
  • Broad based knowledge and interest in mechanical, systems and maintenance
  • Safety conscious and aware of key HSE legislation
  • Ability to adapt to change and be flexible when such situations arise.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • An ability to identify opportunities for improvement with a natural problem-solving mindset.
