About The Role

Facilities Team Leader (Deputy Facilities Manager)

To provide flexible facilities and maintenance services ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all Council buildings across the managed estate, including working a range of shifts — including weekends — that support building opening hours.

The postholder will:

  • Supervise a small team of Facilities Assistants
  • Deputise for the Facilities Manager as appropriate
  • Ensure day-to-day Facilities operations are delivered in line with departmental plans

About You

Requirements and Experience

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Experience working as a Porter/Handyman/Custodian, preferably in a public sector or comparable environment
  • Ability to handle all types of parcels, packages, boxes, push trolleys, and navigate around Council premises
  • Clear understanding of Health and Safety compliance within Facilities Management
  • Experience operating within a customer service environment
  • Proven expertise in using FM (Facilities Management) systems, including:
    • Helpdesk
    • ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition)
    • Access Control systems
