Description
Facilities Technician
Stafford Fulfilment Centre
£31,000 | 39 hours | Mon-Fri Days and Noons rotating shift pattern
At Pets, our aim is to give the nation’s pets what they need to be at their ball-chasing, tail-wagging best. Because we will not rest until every spaniel has a squeezy toy. Every calico has a cat tree. Every rabbit has a run. We are motivated to find the best talent in the Logistics & Distribution industry. Right now, we are looking for a technician to join our Engineering Team at our Fulfilment Centre in Stafford.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a technician with experience in the maintenance of all plant and equipment associated with a major distribution centre.
The Facilities Technician will be responsible in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service within the FC. The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operation. If equipment is not available or performs badly, it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- To put health & safety best practices first in all work conducted, ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations.
- To perform routine maintenance and servicing on a variety of equipment and systems.
- To react quickly to breakdowns, and to communicate clearly with affected parties and to work efficiently to fix the issue.
- To conduct checks and inspections on a regular basis and test systems for safe operation.
- To provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
- Consult with contractors and suppliers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
