Job Purpose

To carry out work or supervise work assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Facilities Manager within set timescales and to a high standard. Also to ensure the facility meets all requirements and operates fully.

Aims and Goals

To provide a helpful and efficient service to internal and external customers.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Follow company procedures
  • Open and close the school according to required opening times
  • Carry out internal and external checks of the building and report faults to the Help Desk, such as damaged tiles or leaks
  • Carry out basic repairs
  • Ensure contractors carry out tasks according to their risk assessments and method statements
  • Ensure contractors remove all waste from site and leave the work area clean and tidy
  • Ensure Waste Transfer Notes are completed and filed where required
  • Be trained as an Authorised Person and issue Permits to Work where required
  • Ensure all visitors sign in and out of the site and manage key control
  • Ensure site induction has been completed for all contractors and visitors
  • Ensure risk assessments and method statements are reviewed for work being carried out
  • Ensure work is completed to a good standard before signing the field report or completing the job
  • Ensure the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn and kept in good condition
  • Ensure the reporting log is updated and sent to the Help Desk with the field report (if needed)
  • Ensure planned maintenance tasks are carried out and completed on time
  • Ensure compliance with L8 water hygiene standards
  • Ensure the school operates in compliance at all times
  • Ensure all goals meet the client's needs
  • Update the daily alarm report (if any) and send to the Helpdesk along with security reports
  • Carry out self-reporting tasks and update the log sheet
  • Take a helpful approach to redecoration needs
  • Carry out external low-level power washing of the building and main entrances (as needed)
  • Monitor and update the compliance folders
  • Ensure the plant room and switch room are clean and tidy
  • Operate CCTV as required and in line with the CCTV guidance policy
  • Complete monthly grounds maintenance audits
  • Be flexible and cover all schools as needed
  • If in a mobile role, take part in the on-call rota, including issuing Permits to Work if required
  • Where agreed with the Facilities Manager, stand in for Operations Supervisors during absences
  • Assist the Facilities Manager or Operations Supervisors with any other required duties
