Facility Manager

Location: Barton Leisure Centre, Oxford, OX3 8GA
Salary: £32,000 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6am to 2.30pm or 1pm-9.30pm, Weekends (1 in 3) 7.30am to 4.30pm

As Facility Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of a busy leisure facility, creating a positive impact on communities by ensuring services are safe, welcoming and high performing. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll help drive growth, innovation and excellent customer experiences, while supporting colleagues to develop and thrive. Your work will have purpose – helping to create healthier, happier futures for the people who use the facility every day.

What You’ll Do as a Facility Manager

  • Lead the safe, effective and efficient operation of the facility, ensuring high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Support the General Manager in delivering operational plans, business objectives and sustainable growth.
  • Manage, coach and develop Duty Managers and departmental leaders, creating headroom for people to grow and perform at their best.
  • Drive excellent customer service, building trust with customers, stakeholders and the local community.
  • Use performance data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Take responsibility for facility readiness, keyholder duties and emergency response support when required.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • Experience in facilities management, leisure operations or a similar operational leadership environment.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams while creating a positive and engaged workplace culture.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with colleagues, customers and external stakeholders.
  • Confident using operational and performance data to make decisions and create impactful solutions.
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer experiences and making a positive impact on communities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Confident swimmer
  • NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) is desirable or training will be provided
