Job Title: Facility Manager Salary: £79,400 - £99,000 depending on experience Location: Desford, Leicestershire – 5 days in office presence. Contract: Full time & permanent The Opportunity As our Facility Manager, you’ll run the day‑to‑day operations across all shifts at our UK Hose Assembly facility in Desford, Leicestershire. You’ll lead experienced production teams who assemble hydraulic hoses, making sure the site runs safely, smoothly and with a strong focus on people. We’re looking for a leader who understands manufacturing and assembly, cares about their teams, and can bring structure, clarity and steady hands‑on leadership to a busy production environment. What you will do: As a Facility Manager, you are accountable for, but not limited to: Leading and delivering against safety, quality, output and cost targets across the operation. You will help build a safety‑first, people‑focused culture by encouraging openness, reducing incidents and supporting teams to recognise and manage risks confidently. Developing and supporting production managers and wider teams, building capability through coaching, fair performance management and clear expectations for delivery, ensuring people feel valued, supported and able to grow. Embedding a safe and compliant working environment, partnering with engineering teams to improve workstation design, reduce risks and ensure the site meets all legal and company requirements while prioritising colleague wellbeing. Planning and scheduling work in the short and long term, ensuring people, equipment and materials are available to meet customer demand and maintain smooth production, with clear communication and consideration for team impact. Driving continuous improvement, encouraging new ideas, removing obstacles, reducing waste and using structured problem solving to improve flow and efficiency, while creating an environment where everyone feels heard and involved. Working closely with engineering and maintenance teams to reduce downtime, strengthen equipment reliability and ensure processes, procedures and performance standards are consistently followed through supportive, collaborative relationships. Performance Management: Sets clear expectations, gives regular, constructive feedback and recognises strong performance. Identifies issues early and supports colleagues with fair, practical actions that enable them to develop and succeed. Planning and Organising: Plans work in a logical, structured way so people, resources and priorities remain aligned to daily and long‑term goals. Anticipates challenges, manages competing demands and adjusts plans calmly to maintain safe, reliable operations. Continuous Improvement Mindset: Knows how to identify and deliver practical improvements that reduce waste and improve reliability. Involves the team, removes barriers and uses structured methods to make work safer and more efficient.
