About the Role: Line Operator (Fixed-Term Contract – 6 Months) A vital position in our Nestlé Confectionery Factory, located in York
Business Details
- Business Unit: Nestlé UK & Ireland
- Contract Type: Fixed-term (6 months) – Flexible Worker basis (no employer sponsorship)
- Location: York Factory
- Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts, 36-hour weeks (average over a 3-week pattern), covering day and night shifts from Monday to Friday (Friday mornings only) with optional overtime available
- Salary: £35,572 per annum

The Opportunity
Join Nestlé as a Line Operator in our prestigious confectionery factory, with potential to transition into a permanent role following the 6-month period. Working across various production areas, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating packing machines with highest standards in food safety and hygiene
- Monitoring and ensuring high-quality product production
- Supporting the manufacturing team through diverse tasks

Your Impact
Your core responsibilities include:
- Achieving performance targets by operating machines and systems effectively
- Keeping production lines efficient & safe with minimal downtime
- Ensuring continuous quality/compliance standards (quality, safety, cost, delivery)
- Promoting a continuous improvement mindset
- Acting with ownership of the line, even when a Line Leader is absent
Your involvement in factory activities will directly support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational excellence.
