Factory Line Operator - Nestle Flexible Worker

  • Operating hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (average over a 3-week pattern)
  • Shifts include days and nights, Monday – Friday (Friday only daytime shifts)
  • Additional hours available through optional overtime

Salary

£35,572 per annum

About the Role

We are recruiting ** Line Operators** to join our Nestlé Confectionery factory in York to support the production department. These roles are on a Nestlé Flexible Worker basis and may offer the potential for a permanent role in the future.

Nested in the world’s leading food and beverage business, you’ll assist the production team in creating confectionery products such as KitKat, Aero, Yorkie bars & Polo Mints. Your duties will include:

  • Working alongside a team to operate packing machines while ensuring the highest safety and food hygiene standards -Monitoring product quality and adhering to rigorous industry standards.

Your Impact

As a Line Operator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving production performance targets by operating machinery and processes safely and efficiently.
  • Optimizing line operations to minimize lost production time from repairs and breakdowns.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards for a safe working environment.
  • Fostering a continuous improvement mindset while taking accountability for your line, even when the Line Leader is absent.
  • Acting as a positive role model to maintain routines and disseminate standards.
  • Driving a work culture that is happiness-focused, engaging, and motivating to your colleagues.
  • Supporting factory activities to meet KPIs.

Your Ingredients for Success

To excel in this role, you should demonstrate:

✅ A practical and exciting approach to daily tasks. ✅ Proactive promotion of positive behaviors—especially around personal safety and team safety. ✅ Strong teamwork skills and a competency in problem solving. ✅ Ability to follow processes, delivering compliance in safety, quality, cost, and delivery. ✅ Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential—on-the-job training will be provided.
