Site Operations Manager
Alexander Steele is delighted to have partnered with a highly successful food manufacturing business currently looking to appoint their next Site Operations Manager.
About the Role
The Site Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the operation, ensuring that production, logistics, and support functions align effectively to deliver consistent results. This role focuses on stabilising, improving, and integrating the factory operation over time by:
- Building capability
- Strengthening systems
- Driving performance across all areas
Initially, this involves addressing and resolving operational challenges. Long-term success is measured by improving operational consistency, predictability, and reducing dependency on individual staff.

Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: £90,000 – £110,000
- Private healthcare
- Enhanced pension
Key Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Own and improve end-to-end operational performance in production and logistics, ensuring consistent output and service levels are achieved.
- Lead the delivery of production output, ensuring On-Time In-Full (OTIF) performance across all shifts and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
- Maintain and enhance product quality standards, ensuring full compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Optimise labour management, ensuring effective deployment and cost efficiency while maintaining performance standards.
- Set and lead by example with high standards and personal accountability.
- Ensure audit readiness and maintain consistent performance under pressure.
- Diagnose root causes of performance issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Drive consistency in performance across day, night, and weekend operations.

Key Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of senior leadership within the food manufacturing industry.
- Deep understanding of food safety, hygiene, fire, and health & safety standards.
- "Hands-on" leadership qualities with a focus on operational excellence.
- Forward-thinking and innovative mindset, always seeking creative solutions to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
