Role: Factory Production Manager
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000
Location: Lacock, Wiltshire
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
We are looking for a Factory Production Manager to lead all production activities within our specialist Egg Innovation Centre, where new egg-based products are developed, trialled and brought to market. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in transforming innovative product concepts into scalable commercial success while ensuring the highest standards of quality, food safety and operational performance.
You will provide leadership across all production operations, driving efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement within a highly regulated food manufacturing environment. Alongside supporting product development and trial activity, you will also oversee the compliant manufacture of established product lines, ensuring products consistently meet customer, quality and regulatory standards.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead day-to-day operations within our Egg Innovation Centre, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality production.
- Drive key operational KPIs including Health & Safety, plan attainment, customer service, labour efficiency, yields, waste and cost control.
- Manage both NPD trial production and commercial manufacturing activities.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing production team.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality and regulatory standards.
- Champion a strong food safety and health & safety culture across the site.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and efficiency.
- Utilise capital investment opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Work closely with NPD, Technical, Engineering and Commercial teams to successfully launch new products.
- Manage resources, staffing, budgets and production schedules to meet business objectives.
- Support audits, customer visits and cross-functional business projects.
- Lead by example through a visible, hands-on management style and Management by Walkabout.

- Demonstrate and champion Stonegate Farmers' values of Respect, Aspire, Courage, One Team and Diversity.
- Be an inspiring, hands-on leader with a proven ability to motivate, develop and engage high-performing teams.
- Have significant operational leadership experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
- Possess a strong background in high-care food production, with a thorough understanding of hygiene, compliance and best practice standards.
- Have experience manufacturing both own-label and branded products, ideally for major retailers or foodservice customers. Experience supplying M&S would be highly advantageous.
- Have a strong understanding of food safety, quality and compliance standards, including BRCGS requirements.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering improvements in productivity, efficiency, waste reduction and operational performance.
- Have experience supporting NPD trials and successfully introducing new products and processes into manufacturing operations.
- Be passionate about continuous improvement, with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Green or Black Belt qualifications would be advantageous.
- Be commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, controlling costs and optimising resources.
- Use data and operational KPIs to support informed decision-making and drive performance.
- Be a confident communicator who can build effective relationships across Production, Technical, Engineering, Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
- Take a proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving, remaining resilient and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Maintain exceptional standards of quality, food safety and compliance, with a keen eye for detail.
- Be customer-focused, understanding the importance of product integrity, service excellence and brand reputation.
- Bring a positive, collaborative and accountable approach, with the ability to lead by example and deliver results through others.
