Salary: £31,537 progressing to £34,434 pa (pay award pending)
Hours: Full-time - 37 hours per week
Location: Office-based in Stevenage, covering the districts of St Albans & Dacorum
Contract type: Permanent

Our Team
The Supporting Families Partnership Team, situated in Children’s Services, provides:
- Training
- Support
- Advice & guidance to professionals working with families through early help intervention, ensuring the right support is provided timely and efficiently.
This non-family-focused role aids practitioners across Hertfordshire, including Families First Practitioners, within Supporting Families.
Key Responsibilities

Early Help Support:
- Conduct 1:1 coaching and broader support for key workers across the county.
- Facilitate conversations with families (indirect role) to identify needs and support Key Workers’ SMART Action Plans.

Training & Development:
- Lead group/1:1 virtual and in-person training sessions for professionals.
- Deliver ongoing support for the Early Help Module (EHM) System, including conducting Families First Assessments (FFA).

Discussion & Collaboration:
- Hold early help consultations with external partners.
- Attend FFA Support Meetings & Team Around the Family (TAF) Meetings (miniature exercising leadership or chairman responsibilities/minute-taking).

- Maintain meticulous and accessible records, balancing shifting priorities.

- Foster knowledgeability in services and in navigating district resources.
Ideal Candidate
Essential Skills/Experience
- Working with families to drive positive change and outcomes.
- Clear understanding of integrated/cross-agency early help practices, with emphasis on effective interprofessional communication.
- Prior experience with or proficiency in Early Help Module (EHM) Systems.
- Ability to produce detailed, outcomes-focused assessments, translating findings into action plans.
- Skilled in managing professional conflicts using negotiation talents for cooperative partnerships.
- Self-motivated, juggling multiple priorities while prioritising collaborative cross-stakeholder engagement.
- Proficient in digital tools, particularly Microsoft applications.
- Valid UK driving license + personal vehicle access for Hertfordshire commutes.
Desirable
- Prior training delivery experience (a plus but not essential).
- Confidence in chairing meetings or taking detailed minutes.
Note: A social work qualification is not mandatory.
