Job Title: Families First Coordinator Salary: £31,537 progressing to £34,434 per annum (pay award pending) Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week Location: Office base in Stevenage, covering St Albans & Dacorum districts Contract Type: Permanent

About The Team
The Supporting Families Partnership Team delivers training, support, advice and guidance to professionals supporting families through early help intervention, ensuring they receive the right support at the right time.
Based within Supporting Families in Children’s Services, the team focuses on early help training and support for Families First Practitioners across Hertfordshire. This role does not involve direct work with families but centres on assisting those who do.
About The Role
The Families First Coordinator will:
- Provide professionals with accurate information on core services, guiding them to access the right supports across districts.
- Offer virtual and in-person training (group and 1:1) to professionals across Hertfordshire.
- Conduct Early Help Consultations with external partners, focusing on cases that require non-safeguarding intervention.
- Attend FFA Support Meetings and Team Around the Family Meetings, may chair discussions and take minutes.
- Deliver Early Help Module System (EHM) training and provide ongoing support and evidence-based guidance.
- Assist Key Workers in identifying family needs, facilitating Families First Assessments, and co-creating SMART Action Plans.
- Respond to risk promptly, consulting Hertfordshire’s Continuum of Need for decision support.
- Maintain precise records while balancing multiple partners’ needs.

About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in working with children, young people, and families to drive positive outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of Integrated Practice and Multi-agency Early Help, with fluency in cross-agency communication.
- Hands-on experience with the Early Help Module System (EHM).
- Outcome-focused approach, with exceptional attention to detail for report writing, need identification, and strategic action plan development.
- Conflict management and negotiation skills, ensuring effective teamwork and problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks, understanding roles in collective impact.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement across diverse services and agencies.
- Proficiency in digital tools, including Microsoft suite.
- Full UK driving licence with vehicle access (for appointments/meetings).
Desirable Traits:
- Previous experience delivering training (reinforced but not mandatory).
- Comfortable chairing meetings and taking minutes.
