Green Harvest | Family Assessment Centre — Croydon/Sutton
Full-time, Permanent | 40 hrs/week, rota basis including 2 weekends per month
About the Role
We're looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Family Assessment Practitioner Worker to join our team at The Groves Family Assessment Centre. This is a Grade 1 position, ideal for someone with some relevant experience who is working towards Level 3 qualifications, or who is newly qualified and ready to build a career in family support and social care.
In this role, you'll work directly with families in placement, supporting weekly assessment plans, modelling positive parenting practices, and helping our team build a clear, accurate picture of each family's needs and progress. Success in this role looks like consistently high-quality observations and recordings, families who feel supported and guided rather than judged, and a Centre that runs smoothly day to day because of your reliability and care.
You'll report into the Centre Managers and work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, playing a key part in helping vulnerable families move forward safely.
RESPONSSIBILITIES
Assessment Support
- Maintain accurate, detailed daily recordings to support each family's weekly assessment plan
- Observe and document child-parent interactions to help evaluate parental ability and family dynamics

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
