We are excited to offer a Family Group Decision Making Conference Co-ordinator position in Leicester, where you can help grow and shape an innovative, family-led service.
What is a Family Decision-Making Conference?
A Family Decision Making Conference is a structured, family-led meeting where families and their wider support networks come together to make safe and sustainable plans for a child. These conferences are facilitated by an independent, impartial co-ordinator, who supports the family throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be on:
Engagement and Support
- Attend and facilitate Family Decision-Making Conferences at Early Help thresholds.
- Apply Family Decision-Making Conference principles across multiple stages of intervention.
- Conduct evidence-based monitoring and record impact, ensuring children and young people stay within family networks.
- Strengthen positive attachments and relationships between parents and children through structured family interventions.
- Coordinate and share whole-family approaches to foster sustainable change and improve family functioning.

Championing the Voice of the Child
- Implement and promote services that centre on the lived experiences and perspectives of children and young people.
- Ensure their needs guide all decision-making and service development.
Maintaining Professional Practice
- Hold a caseload of Family Decision-Making Conferences (FDCs) to:
- Model best practice.
- Foster a culture of integrity, quality, and continuous learning within the team.
Working Arrangements
- Location: Halford House, Leicester (base), with hybrid working and multi-site visits.
- Working hours: Primarily within standard hours, but flexibility will be required to align with families’ schedules.
Requirements & Skills
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced professional committed to making a difference. You should demonstrate:
- A passionate understanding of supporting vulnerable children and families through complex challenges.
- Strong experience in:
- Managing diverse caseloads and conducting interviews/assessments.
- Working with disabled children or those with additional needs.
- Intervening effectively for families facing disadvantage or discrimination.
- Responding to safety concerns and risk factors to protect children at risk.
- Deep insight into children at risk of care proceedings, including strategies to promote safe, stable outcomes.
- Proven experience in:
- Supporting whole-family interventions.
- Delivering preventative work with high-needs families.
- Assessing risks, safeguarding, and escalating interventions when necessary.
- Ability to supervise colleagues and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £32,061 – £34,434 per annum
- Total benefit value (including pension and holiday entitlement): £46,953.83
- Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours/week)
