Family Law Solicitor / Partner – Cardiff – Up to £150,000 + Benefits
A leading Legal 500 firm is seeking an ambitious Family Law Solicitor / Partner in Cardiff to establish and grow its new office. This is a rare opportunity to build a high-performing team from the ground up, offering autonomy and strategic backing to shape a new regional presence within a highly respected national practice.
This Family Law Solicitor / Partner role in Cardiff is ideal for a commercially savvy lawyer with strong experience in privately funded family matters, particularly complex financial remedy cases involving high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, business assets, and trusts. You will shape the team’s direction, lead client acquisition, and develop a strong market presence across South Wales.
With significant investment, brand recognition, and leadership support, this opportunity offers ownership of a growing office, influence over strategic decisions, and the chance to establish a leading Family Law practice in a key regional market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
