Family Lawyer / Family Solicitor
4–6 Years' PQE
Merseyside offices in Liverpool and Southport | Hybrid Working
Not every family lawyer wants a bigger caseload.
Some Want Better Cases. Others Want Greater Autonomy.
The best lawyers are often looking for both.
Some want to work alongside lawyers who genuinely influence the future of family law.
And some want to help clients through life's most challenging moments while still having a life of their own.
At Napthens, we're looking for a Family Lawyer or Solicitor (ideally 4–6 years' PQE) to join our growing Merseyside family team.
You'll work closely with Matthew Taylor, one of the North West's leading specialists in financial remedies, complex divorce, and cohabitation disputes. At the same time, you'll have the autonomy and trust to manage your own caseload and build your own profile within the team.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days handling straightforward matters from start to finish.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
