Description
We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Family Lawyer to join the team in Nottingham; please note some travel and out of hours working will be required for business development, meetings and training purpose.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of High-Net-Worth financial cases, Children Act Proceedings and the wider Family Law.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing and innovative Family Law team.
As a key member of our Family team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality legal services while contributing to the continued growth and success of the department.
In This Role, You Will
-
Manage and progress a diverse and high-quality caseload across all areas of family law, including:
- Preventative work
- High net worth financial remedy negotiations and proceedings
- Children Act matters
- TOLATA cases
- Elements of international family law
- Injunctive proceedings
(We actively encourage the development of a specialist area of interest.)

Work closely with the Partners to drive cases forward and help shape the strategic direction of the team

Contribute to team success by meeting agreed objectives, identifying new opportunities, and enhancing the team’s profile in the market

Proactively generate new business, with a particular focus on growth in Stamford, Rutland, and surrounding areas

Deliver against individual targets with a high degree of autonomy and accountability

Build strong, lasting client relationships, ensuring an exceptional level of service and satisfaction

Maintain compliance with quality standards, procedures, and case management systems

Manage your caseload in a commercially effective and efficient manner

Support, mentor, and supervise junior team members, fostering their professional development

Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, developing both technical expertise and wider professional skills

Skills & Experience – Family Lawyer
We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded Family Lawyer who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing environment.
You Will Bring
- A recognised legal qualification
- Strong technical expertise in family law, ideally with 3+years’ PQE
- Experience managing a broad caseload, including:
- Divorce and financial remedy work (including high net worth matters)
- Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Children Act proceedings
- TOLATA claims
- International cases and injunctive relief
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels
- A proactive, driven approach to your career and personal development
- A track record of contributing to business development and building client relationships
- Strong IT skills, including experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office
- A collaborative, hands-on team mindset with the ability to motivate and support others
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A balanced, pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Confidence in handling sensitive matters with professionalism, diplomacy, and empathy
- Integrity, credibility, and sound judgement in all interactions
