Family Paralegal (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)

Location: London
Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 9:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday

This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded Family Law team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting lawyers on a broad range of family matters while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a leading legal environment.

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Family Paralegal to join our busy Family team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an aspiring legal professional to develop their experience within a specialist Family Law practice, working closely with lawyers, clients, counsel, and the courts.

You will play a key role in supporting the team with case management, legal administration, research, and document preparation, ensuring matters progress efficiently and clients receive an exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing electronic and hard-copy hearing bundles and papers for counsel
  • Collating financial disclosure documentation and assisting with the preparation of Forms E
  • Drafting correspondence and legal documents
  • Conducting legal research to support ongoing cases
  • Attending client meetings, conferences with counsel, and court hearings
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, clerks, courts, and third parties
  • Supporting billing processes and departmental administration
  • Assisting with file management and maintaining case records
  • Providing administrative support to colleagues across the Family team

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant within a legal environment
  • A genuine interest in Family Law and current developments within the sector
  • Experience preparing court bundles and legal documentation
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A professional, positive, and collaborative approach
