Physician Opportunities in Addiction Medicine – Fraser Health

Fraser Health (FH) and the Department of Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services have multiple opportunities for physicians to join an innovative team delivering growing addiction services across the region. Our collaborative, supportive group is dedicated to low-barrier, equitable, evidence-based care.
Current opportunity:
Surrey Memorial Hospital – Addiction Medicine Consult Team (AMCT)
Time Commitments Available:
- Full-time
- Part-time
- Occasional shifts
Open Positions:
- Monday: Awaiting availability in the regular line position.
- Tuesday: Maternity coverage (September 1, 2026 – September 1, 2027, 1-year term).

Qualifications and Requirements
We seek physicians with a genuine passion for addiction medicine and alleviate structural barriers to care. Ideal candidates demonstrate:
- Active license with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- Experience in addiction medicine (assets but not mandatory).
- Preference given to candidates holding:
- ISAM certification
- ABAM certification
- CCFP(AM) accreditation.
- Experience with equitable and culturally safe approaches is highly valued.
