Role Overview
This is a 12-month programme funded by Brighton and Hove City Council with the aim to improve the lives of families in temporary accommodation.
Role of Families Project Worker
The role involves supporting a caseload of families living in temporary accommodation. The role requires a combination of specialist knowledge and excellent relationship building skills to support residents with varying degrees of mental health and trauma related issues to engage with appropriate support, improve their experience of temporary accommodation and to access suitable housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Support complex and vulnerable people
- Engage with appropriate support, improve their experience of temporary accommodation and to access suitable housing solutions
- Excellent communication and joint working with colleagues and a variety of partners and professionals; including the NHS, Probation Service, local council services and other third sector organisations
- A high degree of motivation and emotional intelligence to support service users with complex emotional needs
- Making decisions, “in the moment” to do the right thing to mitigate risk with service users

Requirements
- Passionate to work collaboratively with others for the good of our service users
- Experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity
- High degree of self-awareness to one’s own resilience levels and exercising appropriate levels of self-care
