Family Support Worker – Knowsley (Permanent, Full-Time)

We are currently looking for a compassionate and committed individual to join our family team at our Knowsley service.

Where: Knowsley

Hours and Contract Type

  • Hours per week: 37.5 (Full-time)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Part-time roles? Offered on a pro-rated salary based on contracted hours.

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Deliver support to families to promote access for service users.
  • Provide advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to develop recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Adhere to Change Grow Live policies, particularly those relating to lone working, health, and safety (given the complexity of working with service users) and service delivery standards.
  • Carry out focused family work, offering rapid and flexible interventions when required to meet service users' needs.
  • Collaborate closely with partners, including Knowsley Social Care.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, providing reports as necessary.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A commitment to multi-agency working, establishing strong partnerships with other professionals (e.g. mental health services, criminal justice agencies, community groups) to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
  • A strong understanding of substance misuse issues, with experience using similar care models.
  • Experience in safeguarding and working within a substance misuse field is essential.
  • Knowledge of family dynamics impacted by substance misuse and associated challenges.
  • Good awareness of local community-based support practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
