Family Solicitor – 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract- (2-3 years PQE)- Full Time We are a law firm committed to delivering exceptional legal services and achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients. We are recognised specialists in dispute resolution, with expertise across Professional Negligence, Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, and Family Law. The Opportunity We are seeking a Family Solicitor with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience to join our Family Department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is full-time and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with an equal split between office-based and remote working. You will manage your own caseload of family law matters, with appropriate supervision and support from senior members of the team. You will manage a varied caseload covering all aspects of family law, including divorce, financial remedies, and private children matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing department, working alongside an experienced and supportive team. Purpose of the Role Our Family Department has been established for approximately five years and currently comprises two fee earners. As part of our continued growth plans, we are seeking a motivated Family Solicitor to support the Family Department in managing an expanding caseload and delivering excellent client service. The successful candidate will work closely with senior fee earners and will have the opportunity to further develop their expertise across all aspects of family law. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of client service, supporting business growth, and helping to enhance existing systems and processes. Role Requirements Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience specialising in family law Proven experience managing a varied family law caseload independently Strong knowledge of divorce, financial remedies, and private children matters Experience handling financial remedy proceedings, including exposure to complex financial cases. Excellent business development and networking skills Commercially aware, with the ability to contribute profitably to the department Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently Experience of working towards and achieving fee income targets Key Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedies, and private children matters Advise clients on complex financial arrangements and high-net-worth cases Deliver exceptional client care with a professional, empathetic, and proactive approach Attend court hearings, client meetings, and networking events as required Draft court documents, witness statements and correspondence Conduct legal research and prepare cases for hearings Assist senior solicitors on more complex matters where required Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, introducers, and professional contacts Undertake fee-earning work and make a profitable contribution to the department Support the continued growth and development of the Family Department Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional obligations Manage competing priorities effectively while meeting deadlines Skills and Attributes Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational and time management skills High level of attention to detail Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and work under pressure Committed, motivated, and results-driven Confident IT skills; experience using Proclaim would be advantageous Health and Safety Maintain a safe and tidy working environment Report any accidents, incidents, or potential hazards promptly in accordance with firm procedures Ability to commute/relocate: London, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: PQE: 2 years (required) family law : 1 year (required)
