Family Solicitor / FCILEX
Location: Manchester
Job Type: Full-time | Hybrid Working Available Following Probation
Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE
The Opportunity
A well-established regional law firm is looking to recruit a Family Solicitor or FCILEX to join its growing Family team in Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a department that is undergoing an exciting period of growth under the leadership of a recently appointed Head of Department. The successful candidate will become part of a close-knit and supportive team with excellent long-term career prospects.
The team has an excellent reputation for providing practical, client-focused advice and specialises in privately funded family matters. This role offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload while working alongside experienced colleagues in a collaborative environment.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of private family matters from instruction through to conclusion, delivering high-quality legal advice and excellent client care throughout.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of divorce and financial remedy matters.
- Advising on civil partnership disputes.
- Acting for unmarried and cohabiting couples in relation to relationship breakdowns and property disputes.
- Conducting advocacy where appropriate.
- Assisting with new client enquiries and departmental intake.
- Participating in the firm's legal surgery and community advice sessions.
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence and court applications.
- Handling Legal Aid funding applications where required.
- Supporting the department's marketing, networking and business development activities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and local referrers.

- Lawyers with experience independently managing a private family law caseload.

The Team
You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative Family team led by an experienced Head of Department, working alongside solicitors, trainees and paralegals.
