Salary: £26,006.84 per annum (pro rata – from April 2026) Location: Paignton, Devon Contract/Hours: Permanent/Part Time – 25 hours per week Interviews: 4th and 5th of March 2026

About the Role
Join Action for Children and an exciting partnership with Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust, supporting the 0 to 19 Torbay initiative.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, has a good sense of humour, and wants to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and their families.
Core responsibilities include:
- Working directly with families across Torbay, Torquay, and Brixham, offering practical and emotional support in areas such as:
- One-to-one family support and parenting
- Domestic abuse
- Substance misuse
- Wider family challenges
- Conducting assessments, creating personalised support plans, and collaborating with partner agencies for cohesive care
- Occasional Saturday work as part of this role
You’ll need: ✅ Experience (or equivalent) in a family support role ✅ Strong communication skills and a good understanding of safeguarding ✅ Experience with home visits ✅ Ability to work independently as part of a team ✅ Flexibility to travel across the locality

About the Service
We focus on:
- Safeguarding and promoting good health for children in Paignton, Torbay, Torquay, and Brixham
- Providing comprehensive local care for those in need
- Supporting families
How You’ll Make a Difference
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate support through:
- One-to-one, group, or community-based interventions (face-to-face, online, or telephone)
- High-quality, personalised interventions based on individual needs
- Maintain clear communication with:
- Colleagues, children, young people, and their families
- Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns
- Build strong partnerships with professionals and agencies to adopt a strengths-based approach
- Keep accurate records of interactions and progress
About You
Requirements & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent, with at least 2 years post-qualifying experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of:
- Developmental trauma
- Attachment theory
- Emotional regulation and attunement
- Impact of trauma on children’s life outcomes
- Personal qualities:
- Positive, caring attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage workloads
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Logistical requirements:
- Full driving license
- Access to a vehicle
