We are looking for compassionate, motivated and resilient Family Support Workers to join our Family Help team in South Derbyshire and South Dales. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with children, young people and families, providing practical support, challenge and encouragement to help create positive and sustainable change.
Working within a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach, you will empower families to overcome challenges, improve outcomes and build brighter futures for their children.

What You'll Be Doing
- Working directly with children, young people and families to identify needs and improve outcomes.
- Using the Stronger Families Safer Children model to assess needs and deliver effective interventions.
- Supporting families to make positive changes through practical help, encouragement and respectful challenge.
- Promoting school attendance and supporting children to maximise their educational potential.
- Delivering evidence-based interventions with children and families aged 0-19.
- Attending and contributing to multi-agency meetings to review progress and coordinate support plans.
- Maintaining accurate records, completing reports and evidencing progress towards agreed outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with schools, social care, health services, police and voluntary sector partners to provide the right support at the right time.
- Ensuring safeguarding remains central to all aspects of your work.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and families and who believes in the power of early intervention.
You will have:
- Experience of working with children, young people and families with complex needs.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child development.
- The ability to build positive, professional relationships whilst appropriately challenging and supporting families to change.
- Excellent communication, recording and organisational skills.
- Confidence working alongside a range of professional agencies and partners.
- The ability to assess need, develop action plans and review progress to achieve lasting outcomes.
- A commitment to treating children, families and colleagues with dignity and respect.
