This role presents a unique opportunity to help address the needs of our children and their families, to help overcome barriers to learning.
We Are Seeking Someone Who
- Is able to work collaboratively with various members of the school communities, including agencies, school staff, child and parents, to be a pivotal supportive link to help overcome barriers to learning
- Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare- both at home and in school.
- Is able to promote an effective relationship between home and school life, for both children and parents.
- Has knowledge and awareness of opportunities and resources to support children and families in need.
- Is able to maintain effective and efficient lines of communication between various groups and organisations throughout the community, to ensure essential support is available for families
- Has an understanding of procedures and systems involved in the role, including Social Services, Child Protection, Education Welfare Service policies and Reporting standards.
- Maintains an approachable, controlled and focused manner throughout their work, to relay both a positive and optimistic attitude to support those in challenging situations. Oftentimes the role may involve the ability to deal with a wide-ranging audience on challenging issues
- Has previous experience of working with children and their families
- Ability to work effectively, flexibly and independently, with willingness to show initiative and strong interpersonal skills
- Is keen to support the ethos of a Church school.
