Farm Worker – Lambing Shepherd
Fixed term – 6 months Full time – 45 hours per week Location: Invermay, Mosgiel, Dunedin

This critical farm worker position offers a unique opportunity to expand your agricultural expertise while supporting live on-farm scientific research. As part of Invermay Farm, a busy research facility conducting trials with sheep, deer, and cattle, this role is ideal for an enthusiastic, hands-on individual with strong work ethic and team spirit.
- Fixed-term (6 months)
- Reports to the Research Farm Manager – Invermay
- Collaborative team environment with innovative opportunities
- On-farm science trials support alongside practical farm duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general farm duties, including livestock management (sheep, deer, cattle) and trial support
- Participate in intensive lambing operations, ensuring Fully Recorded Lambing Events (TruTest experience a advantage)
- Maintain Experiments' Field Standards – implement research according to protocol and ensure equipment functionality
- Work closely with Science Teams to deliver high-quality research outcomes
- Contribute to sustainable on-farm practices, maintenance, and operational excellence

Ōpūmanawa | About You
Essential
- 2+ years of farm work experience, preferably in sheep/livestock management, animal health, stock handling and record-keeping
- Experience in fully-recorded lambing beats (TruTest preferred)
- Full driver’s licence
Desirable Skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to high-pressure environments (e.g., lambing season)
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
