Job Opportunity: Fast Track Office Co-Ordinator

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust – Cancer Services, North Bristol NHS Trust

Organisational Change North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) have merged to form Bristol NHS Foundation Trust effective 1st July 2026. Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive individual to join our Fast Track Office within Cancer Services. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking, and enjoys solving challenges. If this aligns with your skills, we’d love to hear from you!

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues as a team player.
  • Handle workload independently, prioritising tasks to meet patient targets and service quality.
  • Problem-solve efficiently to resolve workload and data issues and deliver high-quality customer service.

This role requires: ✔️ Proficient IT skills (Microsoft suite, data entry, systems). ✔️ Self-organising ability and effective time management.

Working for Cancer Services

Involvement in Cancer Services means operating in a fast-paced yet supportive team culture, all dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes within urgent care pathways.


Detailed Responsibilities

  • Patient Appointment Coordination: Facilitate Urgent Suspected Cancer clinic appointments (via telephone) adhering to clinical waiting time (CWT) standards.
  • Data Integration: Maintain accurate patient records on the Trust’s PAS system.
  • Customer Liaison: Be the primary contact in the Trust for patient/staff queries regarding the Urgent Suspected Cancer pathway.
  • Departmental Support: Provide flexible cover for colleagues and maintain continuity during absences.

Desirable Qualifications

🔸 Prior experience in medical environments (clinical or admin support). 🔸 Familiarity with E-Referral systems and appointment booking processes.


Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum educational requirement: GCSE standard or equivalent.

Employment Experience

  • Essential: Proficiency in Microsoft applications and/or data entry.
  • Desirable: Administrative/secretarial background and experience in healthcare.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

🤝 Attention to detail (exceptional). 📝 Keyboard/data entry skills (fast-typing essential). ✅ Workload management – Organising tasks independently.
